OCEANIC INSTITUTE

Anthony Ostrowski has been named president of Oceanic Institute. He was previously OI vice president and director of the U.S. Marine Shrimp Farming Program. OI is a nonprofit, private institution affiliated with Hawai'i Pacific University.

HAWAI'I CONVENTION CENTER

The Hawai'i Convention Center has appointed Brian Reaver regional director of accounts for the Northeastern U.S. He previously was the director of global sales for Wyndham Hotels and Resorts.

ALOHA TECHNICAL SOLUTIONS

Aloha Technical Solutions, an IBM premier business partner, has hired three new team members. They are:

Ross Battaglia Jr., director of technical services and business development, fresh from a successful eight-year career with KLA-Tencor.

Dennis Proulx, account executive, previously an account manager with Pacific Wireless Communications.

Gary Viernes, new systems engineer, a 12-year veteran of the Hawai'i IT field.

CENTRAL PACIFIC HOMELOANS

Central Pacific Bank has announced the following personnel changes at its subsidiary, Central Pacific HomeLoans:

Tony Au was hired as executive vice president and chief production officer.

Victor Brock has been promoted to executive vice president and secondary market manager.

Diane "Dee Dee" Hochberg has been promoted to underwriting manager and senior vice president.

Steven Ohata has been promoted to senior vice president and retail origination manager.

Andrew Kim has been promoted to vice president and wholesale manager.

AQUA HOTELS & RESORTS

Aqua Hotels & Resorts has announced the recent promotions of James Odo to director of sales - Asia and Karishma Chowfin to sales manager.

Also selected was First Public Relations Ltd. as general sales agent for the United Kingdom and Aloha Consultant CO. as general sales agent for China.

CARLSMITH BALL

Carlsmith Ball has appointed Jay Handlin and William Harstad as new partners of the firm.

Handlin's practice focuses on complex commercial litigation and appeals, while Harstad's focuses on commercial litigation and dispute resolution.
