Tennis: Del Potro gains D.C. final with win over Gonzalez

WASHINGTON — Defending champion Juan Martin del Potro has beaten Fernando Gonzalez 7-6 (2), 6-3 to advance to the Legg Mason Tennis Classic final.
The second-seeded Argentine picked up his first career win against fourth-seed Gonzalez in four attempts. The two last met in the 2007 Australian open.
Top-seeded Andy Roddick will face John Isner at night in Saturday's other semifinal. The matchup is a repeat of the 2007 Legg Mason final, which Roddick won in straight sets.
