Military and families get free day at Bishop Museum

May 2 will be "Salute the Troops" day at the Bishop Museum with free admission for military and dependents from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and a day of entertainment, craft demonstrations and of the martial art of lua, games and other activities for children.

Local families will be offered a special $3 admission rate that day. Both military and kama'aina should bring ID.

U.S. Army Infantry Cpt. Nic Iorio, who volunteers at the Bishop Museum, is helping to organize behind-the-scenes tours for military families.
