The Hawai'i Fashion Incubator is out to prove that fashion is alive and well on the Big Island. The energetic nonprofit, dedicated to promoting Hawai'i fashion as art and industry, will hold its second annual "Green Style" event next weekend in Kailua, Kona.

A Green Drinks After-Party at Mixx Bistro for those 21 and over is set for 8 p.m. April 10.

On April 11, from noon to 5 p.m., the ECOmarket at NELHA Gateway will feature local designers, boutiques and bath and beauty products with an open market vibe. At 2 p.m. there will be a fashion show styled by Hy Tec Salon and spun live by DJ Rhythmstar. Among the featured designers: The Organik, Chris Baretto and Hi State of Mind by Katie Bodnyk. Later, Mixx Bistro hosts an Ecolounge after-party.

Last year's Green Style was held on Kaua'i and the plan is for an event on Maui next year. The weekend is co-sponsored by Hawai'i Red magazine. Information: www.hawaiifashion.org.

TIME FOR A FITTING?

We've all heard the shocking statistic: More than 80 percent of women are wearing the wrong size bra. The thing is, that statistic does not improve from year to year.

Nordstrom is here to help. Today and tomorrow, the store is offering complimentary bra fittings with certified fit experts, and for every bra purchased, $2 will be donated by Nordstrom and participating bra manufacturers to the Hawai'i chapter of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Among the participants: Le Mystere, Chantelle, Donna Karan Intimates, Elle MacPherson, On Gossamer, Simone Perele, Felina and Spanx.

No appointment is necessary, just turn up in the lingerie department. Remember to block some time. We often think we're one size but it turns out we're way off. It may take quite a few tries to find the right fit.

Can't make it this weekend? Nordstrom offers "Girlfriend Parties" for groups of friends. Just connect with your favorite salesperson or call Lingerie (953-6100) to book a gathering.

ROCK SHOP TONIGHT

The Rock Shop, Anne Au's monthly shopping and show event, falls on First Friday, from 3:30 to 8 p.m. at The LOFT, 115 N. Hotel St. The aim is to cultivate a creative hub, showcasing fashion, art and music.

This month's featured designers are: Beware, Dork Sunglasses, Isidra's Custom Cuts, Noelani Jewelry, Recycled Sweethearts, Renee, Star Allison and Rob McG-Shoe Fly.

The fashion show begins at 7:30 p.m.. Stylist Hugette Montesinos of DISfunkshion magazine will set the tone with her keen eye for the edge of fashion.

ON OUR RADAR - DIESEL’S NEW DRESSES BOOST THE MIX FOR SUMMER

The Diesel aesthetic is edgy but not self-consciously so, fashion-forward yet wearable. It just seems to hit the mark every time.

Now Diesel's creative director, Wilbert Das, is adding more dresses to the denim and separates mix for spring and summer. Feminine and beautifully draped, they still maintain their edge. We love this one, which just arrived at Diesel Ala Moana.
