Big Island police on Friday found an unidentified decomposing body of a man in the Kapoho Tide Pools, near the Kapoho Lighthouse.

The body was found at 11 a.m. An autopsy is tentatively scheduled for Oct. 10. The identity of the man will be determined using fingerprints and dental records, police said.

The case has been classified as a coroner's inquest.
