Commercial Driver's License office closed Sept. 16, 17

Advertiser Staff

The Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Office, temporarily located at City Square, 1199 Dillingham Blvd., will close for staff training on Sept. 16 and 17, 2008.

The mandatory staff training is being sponsored by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration to ensure standards of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Improvement Act are being addressed by our state.

Commercial motor vehicle and motorcycle operator skills testing will continue at the same testing site during the same hours.

During the closure, the following changes will occur:

• All skills tests shall be paid at the CDL counter temporarily located at City Square prior to date of testing.

• While skills testing will continue at the same testing site, only drivers with pre-paid appointments and proof of payment will be allowed to test; no substitutions will be allowed.

It is recommended that all commercial drivers whose licenses will expire on Sept. 16 or 17 plan ahead to renew their driver's license prior to the office closure.
