PACIFIC CROSSING: Hawaiian Airlines will add four extra flights between Honolulu and Pago Pago, American Samoa, beginning Dec. 19.

The extra flights will be: Dec. 19, 23, 30, and Jan. 2. On those days, Hawaiian's Flight 1465 will depart Honolulu at 5:05 p.m. and arrive in Pago Pago at 9:30 p.m. Return Flight 1466 will depart Pago Pago that same evening at 11:20 p.m. and arrive in Honolulu the following morning at 5:30 a.m.

These flights are in addition to the twice-weekly service that Hawaiian provides between Honolulu and Pago Pago on Sundays and Thursdays.

OUT ON THE RANGE: Parker Ranch's new fall tours include:

• Cattle Country Tour: A four-hour tour that explores the ranch's 160-plus-year heritage via sites not generally open to the public. Passengers take an escorted tour to the two Parker Ranch historic homes in Waimea then head out on one of the oldest roads on the island, Mana Road. Stops are made at rustic and still utilized cowboy stations. The turnaround is at historic Makahalau Cowboy station. $135 per person and includes picnic lunch and beverage.

• The hourlong Parker Ranch Mana Road Tour takes a shorter trip back in history down the ancient Hawaiian highway. $50 per person includes snack and beverage. Both tours have a maximum of six passengers, minimum of two.

• Authorized game hunts on Parker Ranch land for Polynesian boar, Spanish ibex goat, Vancouver bull and upland bird hunting with guides Jack Ku and Guido Giocometti. Cost is $800 for boar hunts to $2,250 for the Vancouver bull. Upland game birds are hunted on preserve land and are regulated by the point system with a maximum of 14 points per day per hunter. Cost is $475 to $1,300. Upland bird hunting is October through February while turkey hunting is permitted from March 1 until April 15. All hunting adventures are arranged directly with the guide. GIRLS WEEKEND: October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
