Bengals waive ex-UH fullback Reagan Mauia

Advertiser News Services

The Cincinnati Bengals today waived fullback Reagan Maui'a, a second-year player from the University of Hawai'i.

Maui'a signed with the Bengals as a free agent Sept. 3 and was active for two games with no carries.

Maui'a was cut by the Miami Dolphins in August after playing in all 16 of the Dolphins' games last season.

Mauia was a sixth-round draft pick by the Dolphins last year.

The Bengals also signed Dave Rayner today, giving them another kicker with Shayne Graham hampered by a sore groin.

Graham didn't practice on Thursday or Friday and is listed as questionable for tomorrow's game at the New York Jets. The Bengals already are missing quarterback Carson Palmer, who will be no better than the backup behind Ryan Fitzpatrick because of a sore passing elbow.

Rayner has played in 41 games with Indianapolis, Green Bay, Kansas City and San Diego, connecting on 41 of 58 field-goal attempts. He was released by Detroit on Aug. 26.
