WAILUKU
Ceremony planned for infant loss remembrance

A "Wave of Light" candle-lighting ceremony sponsored by the March of Dimes-Maui Division will be held Wednesday (Oct. 15) in recognition of National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day.

The event will begin at 7 p.m. on the lawn fronting the Kalana O Maui building, 200 S. High St., Wailuku. Participants are asked to be there by 6:45 p.m.

Event chairwoman Lauren Wilson said the ceremony is a way "for those who have been touched by pregnancy or infant loss to remember and honor their loved ones."

Wilson, who lost her daughter, Akeelah Nadia, in June, said she hopes the event also will provide comfort to affected families.

To participate, call Wilson at 264-3007 or healingemptyarmswithlove@gmail.com.
