Yesterday, 200 Marines from Headquarters Battalion at Marine Corps Base Hawaii in Kane'ohe hiked 5.2 miles carrying a total of 2,500 pounds of canned goods and other food donations for the base's Operation Harvest. The base food drive will benefit the Salvation Army in Kane'ohe, the food pantry at St. George Catholic Church in Waimanalo and the base's Armed Services YMCA. The two-hour hike began at 6 a.m.
