Red Cross opens Waianae shelter because of foul weather

Advertiser Staff

The American Red Cross has opened a shelter because of the high winds and rainfall in Waianae. The shelter is at Waianae District Park, 85-601 Farrington Hwy. It opened at 6 p.m. A spokeswoman said about 30 people living on the beach had their tents shredded by the high winds, so the shelter was opened to help them.
