Hawai'i visual artists and world-class luxury fashion brands are pairing up to present a celebration of the arts for all to enjoy.

The Fine Art Associates Inc., representing contemporary fine artists in all media, matched local artists with the upscale retailers at Luxury Row at 2100 Kalakaua Ave. to create a walkable exhibit throughout the elegant block.

The artists, their media and their venues:

• May Izumi and Lori Uyehara show clay and wood sculpture at Tiffany & Co.

• Mark Chai shows wood sculpture at Coach.

• Hiroki Morinoue shows prints and painting at Yves Saint Laurent.

• Sean Browne shows stone sculpture at Chanel.

• Ron Kent shows wood sculpture and vessels at Gucci.

• Stephen Freedman shows ceramic works at Tod's.

• A. Kimberlin Blackburn shows sculpture at Hugo Boss.

The opening reception with the artists is set for 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow. The exhibit is free and open to the public during regular business hours and remains on view through Nov. 17. It's also an ideal opportunity to check out the fall/holiday collections of upscale clothing and accessories.

PIPE DREAMS GROWS

Island entrepreneur Jason Chang has expanded his retail operations with the opening of a third Pipe Dreams Surf Co. store at Pearlridge Center. The store draws its inspiration from the worlds of music and skateboarding, as well as Hawai'i's surf culture.

Pipe Dreams Pearlridge carries street clothing and accessories for men, women and children from Vans, DC, Oakley, Famous, Paul Frank, Volcom, RVCA, Fox and Alpine Industries. Chang said the store will carry the largest selection of sunglasses on the Leeward side of the island. Pipe Dreams is in the Downtown section of Pearlridge on the main level, in the space formerly occupied by KB Toys.

THE HEIGHT OF FASHION

Underground art and music is facing the sunlight of Makiki Heights: The Animal Brigade will feature fashions by Natasha Li, Anna, Catwings, 100% + Cortez, and High Pitch Stitch at Art in the Garden, a fashion and art show in The Contemporary Museum Cafe, 11:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Nov. 15.

Yacob, Megum Pie, Lone Minahs and DJ Histrionics will perform. Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m., followed by the fashion show.

Lunch reservations are $22 per person (includes the fashion show). A dessert-only option is also available at $7 per person. Fashion-show seating (subject to availability) is $5. Seating and lunch reservations are limited.
