KULA
Holy Ghost Feast events scheduled this weekend

Kula's Catholic community will once again host a free feast for the public and other festivities as part of the annual Holy Ghost Feast.

The event at Holy Ghost Mission, 4300 Lower Kula Road, raises money for Our Lady Queen of the Angels in Keokea, Holy Ghost Mission in Waiakoa, and St. James the Less Mission in 'Ulupalakua.

It opens at 10 a.m. Saturday with entertainment, food booths, games, a bouncing castle, baked goods, plant sales and a farmers market. A Vigil Mass of Pentecost will begin at 5 p.m., followed by a procession led by the Holy Ghost Queen.

An auction at 6 p.m. will include such items as hotel stays, restaurant meals, lu'au tickets, artwork, horseback riding and other activities, and gift certificates.

Sunday's activities will start with a 9:30 a.m. Mass followed by a procession. A meal of laulau, poi and sweet potatoes will be served starting at 11:30 a.m. A livestock auction will be held at 2:30 p.m.
