The Waipahu High School softball team clinched the 12th and final berth to the state Division I softball tournament by defeating Hilo, 7-0, in a play-in game at Walter Victor Stadium in Hilo this afternoon.

The Marauders (7-10) finished sixth in the O'ahu Interscholastic Association Red Division playoffs. Hilo (8-4) was the Big Island Interscholastic Federation runner-up.

The state tournament will be held next Wednesday through Saturday with Division I games at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium and Division II games at Patsy T. Mink Central O'ahu Regional Park and Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.
