Surf down a bit but still large on south shores

Advertiser Staff

A high surf advisory for south-facing shores of all islands has been canceled, but surf of 5 to 7 feet is still expected today, the National Weather Service said.

Surf along west- and north-facing shores will diminish a bit to 3 to 5 feet today while surf along east-facing shores is expected to hold at 4 to 6 feet.

The southerly swell will diminish slowly through the weekend. A smallish north swell is expected to arrive late Sunday, peaking well below the advisory level of 15 feet on Monday.
