Hawai'i' professional Tadd Fujikawa shot a 1-under-par 69 today and is tied for 19th after the first round of The Crowns at Aichi, Japan.

Fujikawa, a Moanalua High School junior, had three birdies and two bogeys over the 6,514-yard, par-70 (35-35) Nagoya Golf Course Wago Course. He is tied with Hilo's Gregory Meyer, a regular on the Japan Golf Tour Organization.

Kiyoshi Miyazato and Tatsuhiko Takahashi share the first-round lead at 4-under 66.

The 17-year-old Fujikawa, who won the Mid-Pacific Open 12 days ago for his first victory as a professional, started on the front nine and birdied the par-3 fourth and par-5 fifth to make the turn at 33. A birdie at the par-4 10th got him to 3 under, but he bogeyed the par-3 13th and par-4 14th for a 36 on the back nine.
