City to hold meeting on Wilhelmina Rise sewer project

Advertiser Staff

City officials have scheduled a public meeting for Tuesday to provide information about an upcoming major sewer repair and replacement project in the Wilhelmina Rise area.

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m.in the Liliuokalani Elementary School cafeteria at 3633 Wai'alae Avenue.

The project will include replacement of approximately 600 feet of defective sewer line by traditional excavation methods.

An additional 40,000 feet of defective sewer line may be rehabilitated by installing a liner that will not require major excavation.

The work will affect various streets throughout Wilhelmina Rise at different stages of the project.

The work is expected to start in April and be completed within 30 months, at an estimated cost of $16.9 million.
