More light winds, sunshine on tap today

A burst of trade winds may bring increased showers to windward areas by the middle of the week, but the National Weather Service's latest forecast for today calls for light winds and mostly dry conditions around Hawai'i.

There will be come afternoon clouds brought in by sea breezes, but rainfall will still be sparse today.

Today: Increasing clouds, with a high near 82. Northeast wind at 6 mph becoming southwest.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy during the early evening, then becoming clear, with a low around 67. Northeast wind around 6 mph.

Tuesday: Increasing clouds, with a high near 82. Southwest wind around 6 mph.

Tuesday night: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 67. East wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 82. East wind around 8 mph.

Wednesday night: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 67. Northeast wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Thursday: Isolated showers. Partly cloudy, with a high near 82. East wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
