Speed limit lowered on portion of Kauai's Kuhio Hwy.

Advertiser Staff

KILAUEA, Kaua'i — The speed limit at the intersection of Kolo Road and Kuhio Highway in Kilauea will be reduced next week from 40 to 30 mph due to the Kilauea Bridge replacement project.

The new posted speed limit will be in effect for the duration of the project, which is expected to be completed by the end of January 2009.

Motorists are advised to allow additional travel time while driving to and from Kilauea and to follow the posted speed limit and other traffic signs in the area, particularly at the intersection of Kolo Road and Kuhio Highway.

The Kaua'i Police Department will be enforcing all traffic laws.
