Got a case of the summertime blues? Treat it at Anna Bannana's, which hosts the Oahu Summer Blues Bash. The Society of Seven Las Vegas will showcase "American Idol" finalist Jasmine Trias in a special six-week engagement. Trias earned rave reviews last year when she performed with the original Society of Seven, becoming the first "American Idol" star to have appeared in a production show on the Las Vegas strip.

Dance Spectrum Hawaii takes center stage with its 2008 dance concert, "Believe it 2 Be it." Expect to see an array of dance styles from the Kailua-based dance company, including ballet, lyrical, jazz, contemporary, tap and acrobatics.

MTV's Making The Band 4 tour stops in Honolulu, bringing Danity Kane, Day26 and Donnie Klang. Danity Kane's latest album "Welcome to the Dollhouse" and Day26's self-titled debut album scored back-to-back No. 1 debuts on the SoundScan/Billboard 200 album chart last month. This will be Day26's and Klang's first appearance in the Islands; Danity Kane performed at the Sports Carnival last year.

CLUBS: JUNE 28

The Seattle-based hip-hop duo Blue Scholars is coming to the Islands, showcasing its Pacific Northwest beats and rhymes. Blue Scholars — DJ Sabzi and one-time Hawai'i resident MC Geologic — recently released its fifth album, titled "Butter & Gun$." Local hip-hop acts The Soul Pacific, Kavet the Catalyst and DJ Bumblebee are set to open for the group. For 21 and older.

Looking for a great summer read or maybe just a couple of books to add to the collection? The Friends of the Library of Hawaii hosts its 61st annual book sale, with more than 100,000 titles, along with CDs, videos, DVDs, records, books on tape and collectibles. New this year: A big music tent in collaboration with Hawaii Public Radio. There's a members' preview sale 5-9 p.m. June 27.

  • Aloha Tower Marketplace's Pre-Independence Day Celebration happens a day early, with live entertainment on multiple stages, a fashion show and more.

    FESTIVAL: JULY 4-6

    BayFest 2008 hits the windward side Fourth of July weekend for three days of entertainment, fireworks and fun. Headlining the annual event are country music artists Little Big Town and Rodney Atkins, alterna-rockers 3 Doors Down, Everclear and Live. There's also a lifestyle expo, military displays, carnival rides, games, boat rides around Coconut Island, food, fitness competitions and a Bathtub Regatta.

    Maunalua, right, takes the stage for a concert under the stars in the second installment of Bishop Museum's Moonlight Mele Concert series. Opening for Maunalua is falsetto singer Darren Benitez. Bring a beach mat and stake your place on the Great Lawn for a family-friendly concert presented by Bank of Hawaii and Bishop Museum.
