The Hau'ula community has a newly renovated civic center thanks to a $414,000 city project to replace windows, doors, wall panels, trellis and roof. The project at the Hau'ula Civic Center also included a fire alarm system upgrade, said Russell Takara, deputy director for the city Department of Design and Construction.

"This is an important community facility and we are very pleased to give it the attention it deserves," said Takara in an e-mail.

The three-month project was done by PER Inc.
