Lanikai Canoe Club captures OHCRA Championship Regatta

Lanikai Canoe Club capped a season of dominance by winning the O'ahu Hawaiian Canoe Racing Association Championship Regatta today at Ke'ehi Lagoon.

Lanikai, which won every sanctioned regatta during the OHCRA season, scored 82 points in the 39-race regatta. Lanikai won four races, including the prestigious men's senior race.

Outrigger finished second with 73 points, and Kailua was third with 62.

Hui Lanakila won the women's senior race and finished with 37 points to win the AA division for medium-sized clubs.

Honolulu Pearl scored eight points to win the A division for small clubs.

The next event is the Hawaiian Canoe Racing Association State Championship Regatta at Ke'ehi Lagoon on Aug. 2.
