Huge south swell expected this week

Advertiser Staff

Surf isn't expected to rise above 4 feet along any shores today, but the National Weather Service said a south swell is expected to produce surf near the 8-foot advisory threshold later this week.

The swell is expected to arrive Tuesday night and produce the large surf during the second half of the work week. Rough surf along east-facing shores may rebuild as trade winds strengthen during the middle of the week.

Today, surf will be 2 to 4 feet along south and east shores, 1 to 3 fee along west shores and 2 feet or less along north shores.
