Eldredge baseball camp set for Aug. 2

The 5th Annual Eldredge Athletics Youth Baseball Clinic will be Aug. 2 at the Punahou School baseball field from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Eldredge family has more than 100 years of coaching experience. Dave, Pal, David and Duane are scheduled to participate in the clinic.

Also helping at the clinic will be Mid-Pacific head coach Dunn Muramaru, Pac-Five head coach Todd Koishigawa, Kamehameha assistant coach Mark Hirayama and Reid Mizuguchi of the Hawaii Collegiate Summer League.

Registration is open to the first 80 players, ages 9 to 15. Cost is $65 and includes the clinic, a T-shirt and lunch. Registration forms can be downloaded at www.eballclinics.com. Deadline to register is July 21.

TRIATHLON

TINMAN NEEDS HELP

The Tinman Hawai'i Triathlon is seeking volunteers for the July 20 race.

Swim and bike volunteers should contact Olga Caldwell at 595-5317 or the Bike Shop at 596-0588.

There are also volunteers needed for the swim portion, with volunteers needing to check in by 3 a.m. and two security shifts (from 3:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.). Contact Caldwell or the Bike Shop to volunteer.

For setup and breakdown duty, the triathlon is looking for high school, college and military groups, as the duties require some manual labor. For setup, which will be July 19 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or breakdown (July 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.) contact Joan Davis at 955-0902 or e-mail divavpr4@hotmail.com.

FOOTBALL

PUNAHOU CLINIC SET

Punahou will host its first football clinic for students in grades 3 to 8 on July 26 at Alexander Field.

Cost is $40 per player and includes a Nike T-shirt, water bottle and snack. For students in grades 3 to 5, their clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to noon. The clinic for students in grades 6 to 8 is from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Deadline is July 12. After that, entries will be accepted on a space available basis.
