Flags to fly at half-staff in honor of Leong, Baptiste

Advertiser Staff

State flags at all state and county buildings will be flown at half-staff today at the request of Gov. Linda Lingle from sunrise to sunset in honor of former state Rep. Bertha Leong, who died June 16.

The governor has also ordered state flags at all state and county buildings to be flown at half-staff on Sunday from sunrise to sunset in honor of Kaua'i County Mayor Bryan J. Baptiste, who died on June 22. A memorial service will be held that day at the Kaua'i War Memorial Convention Hall, followed by a celebration of the late mayor's life at the Convention Hall auditorium.
