Man, 24, held in beer-bottle attack

Advertiser Staff

A 24-year-old man was in police custody tonight after he allegedly attacked another with a broken bottle in a Honolulu park restroom.

Police said the man entered the restroom late Thursday night and kicked the shopping cart of a 54-year-old homeless man. He then punched the homeless man in the head and kicked him in the side.

The man left the restroom, then returned with the broken bottle, which he used to stab the homeless man in the face, arms and head.

He fled when a bystander came into the restroom but was arrested nearby a short time later.

He was being held on a first-degree assault charge.
