With a beachfront location, great food, and open-air ambiance, Tikis new club night has been packed with locals and party people. The Friday night theme is everything pink from decorations to the drink specials. Try one of their Pinky Shots ($5), and dance to music from the 80s, 90s, and Top 40. Its not that girly the beer specials, hamburgers, and view balance it out. Pink Tiki, 10 p.m.-2 a.m. Fridays, Tikis Bar & Grill, 2570 Kalkaua Ave.; 21 and over, $5. PinkTiki@tikisgrill.com to get on the guest list; 923-8454, www.tikisgrill.com.

SIP AND GIGGLE

Recipe for fun: Gather your girlfriends, get out the futons, shake (or stir) up the drinks and get ready to sip and giggle at a slumbertini. Weve got just the party PJs for it: an adorable cami and shorts set from Morgan Beret in Ward Centre, $86.
Shake things up with a girl-friendly drink, like the pretty, pink watermelon martini featured in Halekulani cocktail consultant Dale DeGroffs book The Craft of the Cocktail (Clarkson Potter Publishers).

GREEN AND LOCAL

If youve dedicated yourself to living green, buying a local Christmas tree is a good option. Helemano Farms grows Norfolk Island pines in a sustainable fashion; theyre fresh, dont carry piggyback invasive species and shed few needles. The family-run company has been in business since 2005. Helemano Farms, Whitmore Avenue, Wahiaw; 622-4287, www.helemanofarms.com.

RELEASES

THE KILLERS: FEATHERS, ODDNESS
The Killers are back, and this time theyve brought the weird. The Las Vegas quartets third studio album Day & Age sees them tapping into a little of their hometowns oddness in both new image and sound. They break out steel drums, harpsichords and horns. They sing about alien abduction. Their new stage outfits feature animal prints and plumage.
The word playful keeps coming up, says Brandon Flowers, the singer and keyboardist. We just really had fun. And I think it shows in the album.
The new 10-song CD has stuff you can dance to the Tears For Fears-like The World We Live In and the funky Joy Ride straight-ahead pop with Losing Touch and rock opera on Goodnight, Travel Well.
The pop instinct is definitely glowing right now for us. Its, like, pulsing, says Flowers.
 Mark Kennedy, Associated Press
