Things to do around Oahu today

Advertiser Staff

Seldom do we suggest staying inside, but even if you're not a political junkie today is the day to pull up a seat in front of the tube for the start of the Democratic convention in Denver.

PBS starts its coverage at 2 p.m., with NBC, CBS and ABC starting at 4 p.m. and having more shows throughout the night. And there's always the cable channels like CNN, too. That Punahou's Barack Obama is the expected Democratic nominee is only half the fun. This year's presidential election has historic implications, and today is the day to catch the race from the beginning.

For those of you not into politics or sitting in front of the tube, today looks to be a good snorkeling and beach day. Nothing new, we know, but how can you beat it?
