TODAY'S MIGHT-SEES

"Legally Blonde" (2001), 7 p.m., ABC. The key Olympics events are later, so you might as well enjoy the movie. It's been spun into a sequel and a Broadway musical and even a reality show to re-cast that musical. The story is pure cliche, with a sorority ditz entering Harvard Law School. It's salvaged by Reese Witherspoon's charm and by director Robert Luketic crafting a vibrant, pink look.

Olympics, from 10 a.m., continuing throughout the day, NBC. Track-and-field events are finally starting. Today we see the shot put and trials for the 100-meter dash. The gold medal for shot is expected after 10 p.m. That's also when there will be more swimming gold. For men, it's the 50-meter freestyle and 100-meter butterfly; for women, it's the 200-meter medley and 800-meter freestyle.

OF NOTE

Football, 2 p.m. Fox. For the second straight night, Fox has a pre-season game. For this one, the Oakland Raiders visit Tennessee.

"Ghost Whisperer," 7 p.m., CBS. Some parents never give up: Ned's girlfriend feels her father is haunting her.

"Swingtown," 9 p.m., CBS. The Millers try line dancing.
