The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a flood advisory for O'ahu.

At 12:16 p.m. radar showed heavy rains over Central and Windward O'ahu from Kane'ohe to Kahuku that are moving slowly eastward, the weather service said.

The advisory is expected to last until 3:15 this afternoon, but may be extended if heavy rains persist, the service said.

People are advised to stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low-lying areas that are prone to flooding.
