Funds freed for septic system

Advertiser Staff

Gov. Linda Lingle has released $79,000 for the installation of a septic tank system at the Kona Health Center.

The money will be used to connect the facility's sewer line to a septic tank system, in compliance with Environmental Protection Agency regulations.

Installation is scheduled to begin in December and be completed in April 2008.

The Kona Health Center provides public health nursing services, including immunizations for uninsured children and tuberculosis screening for all ages. Health center nurses also offer health guidance and early intervention services for medically fragile children from birth through age 3.
