Advertiser Staff

The First Hawaiian Bank Foundation awarded $100,000 to the Maui Family YMCA's Mauloa (Forever) Campaign to support the expansion and renovation of the Kahului facility.

The money, to be distributed over a period of four years, pushed the campaign toward a $3 million benchmark. The three-year capital campaign was launched last year and aims to raise $10 million.

Plans call for doubling the size of the current 17,284-square-foot facility.

The agency serves more than 3,400 members and 12,000 program participants annually, with an average of 400 people dropping by on a daily basis.
