HAWAI'I KAI
Condo towers given final OK

Advertiser Staff

Plans to build two 90-foot-tall towers as part of a stair-stepped project on the corner of Hawai'i Kai Drive and Keahole Street cleared the final hurdle yesterday when the City Council unanimously approved the change in zoning and conditions to a unilateral agreement.

The developer, 21st Century Homes, plans to build a 297-unit condominium that required a change in zoning because the land was zoned for buildings up to 60 feet tall. As part of the development, parking will be built underground.

The next step is for the developer to seek building permits and meet affordable-housing requirements.
