Cultural event at Kamehameha

Advertiser Staff

Kamehameha Schools Maui will host a free evening of Hawaiian film, culture and entertainment from 5:45 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 19.

The one-hour documentary "Hokule'a: Passing the Torch" will be shown. The film chronicles the voyaging canoe's sail to Micronesia and Japan, which covered 7,000 miles of open sea. Na'alehu Anthony, a 1993 Kamehameha Schools graduate, served as the documentary's director of photography and co-producer. Anthony and other crew members will be available to talk story afterward.

A light dinner will be provided. The Maui campus is at 270 'A'apueo Parkway.
