A 16-year-old boy was shot last night outside the 'Aiea Public Library, the third shooting on O'ahu in eight days.

The teen was taken to The Queen's Medical Center in serious condition, according to Emergency Medical Services spokesman Bryan Cheplic.

The shooting occurred between 10:30 and 10:45 p.m. in the parking lot of the library at 99-143 Moanalua Road.

Police were seeking a black car with tinted windows seen headed east on Moanalua Road. According to police communications, the shooter was in the car's back seat. The weapon is believed to be a large-caliber handgun.

On May 14, Benjamin Grajeda, 27, was gunned down in Kane'ohe. Dillon Ching, 30, died after being shot late Saturday during a brawl at Sunset Beach.
