TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE

"Tori & Dean: Inn Love" debut, 7:30 p.m., Oxygen. On a night dominated by nonfiction, the lightest of the shows also may be the best. Tori Spelling, who gave birth to a boy March 13, is a natural for reality shows — bright, straight-forward, at ease with her own flaws. Her husband, Dean McDermott, offers amiable counterpoint. Spelling's inheritance — $800,000, McDermott says in the show — was only a fraction of the immense wealth of her late father, Aaron Spelling. She's cutting back, McDermott says, looking for bargains. Or, at least, she's trying. Plans for a yard sale leave her so depressed that she goes on a shopping spree. They want the money for their new venture — buying and running a bed-and-breakfast. The search for that comes next; it should be fun.

"Boston Legal," 9 p.m., ABC. Did you ever notice how guilty a person seems when running in a courthouse with bloody scissors and a bloody wedding gown? That happens to Megan Mullally tonight. Her ex-lover Alan Shore (James Spader) must defend her. Meanwhile, Claire defends a cell-phone thief. And Denny tries to convince Bethany he's not a bigot.

OF NOTE

"Iraq in Fragments," 4 p.m., Cinemax. Maybe the only way to study Iraq is to view small fragments. This Oscar-nominated documentary views people in the Sunni, Shiite and Kurdish areas. The pieces don't fit together, except to show us what a perplexing place it is. One early section — in which a mechanic verbally abuses his 11-year-old employee — is involving, depressing and wildly unrelated to anything else.

"American Idol," 7 p.m., Fox. Last week, viewers started ousting the finalists. The first to go was Brandon Rogers — a good-looking, great-smiling guy who kept hiding behind bland songs. Tonight, the final 11 sing and viewers vote. It's important because the final 10 usually go on tour.

"Bullrun," 7 p.m., Spike TV. Here's more reality, following a cross-country car race.

"The Unit," 8 p.m., CBS. The team is studying desert warfare when Grey is attracted to a female Israeli soldier. It could turn out to be a deadly romance.

"Work Out" season-opener, 8 p.m., Bravo. And more, following the buff world of Jackie Warner and her fitness center. In the opener, her business is soaring, but her romance with the beautiful-and-erratic Mimi is at a crisis point.

"Law & Order: Criminal Intent," 8 p.m., NBC. This rerun has two killings in a wealthy family, with plenty of suspects.

"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," 9 p.m., NBC. Two great actors, Brian Dennehy and Mariska Hargitay, are linked here. He plays a dying gangster, giving her a marathon confession.
