April 27 benefit honors volunteers

Catholic Charities Hawai'i hosts its 11th annual Island Treasures of Hawai'i benefit to honor volunteers at 5:30 p.m. April 27 at the Sheraton Waikiki hotel, Hawaii Ballroom.

Tickets: $50.

EX-QUARTERBACK IS GUEST SPEAKER

Former NFL quarterback Tom Flick will be the speaker at the 28th annual Hawai'i Prayer Breakfast, 7 a.m. April 12 at Hilton Hawaiian Village's Coral Ballroom.

After the breakfast, there will be a 9 a.m. forum with Jerry Coffee and his wife, Susan Page; Kennie Lou Villalon; Kelly Rosati of the Hawaii Family Forum and Austin Imamura, CEO of Pacific Rim Bank.

GOOD FRIDAY AT ST. ANDREW'S

St. Andrew's Cathedral is hosting a three-hour Good Friday program for young people to experience Christ's Passion and to prepare for the celebration of his Resurrection. The free program begins at 9 a.m. April 14 at the Von Holt Room of the cathedral.

QUAKERS LUNCHEON SET FOR MARCH 25

The Honolulu Friends Meeting (Quakers) celebrates the 50th anniversary of its meeting house with a free 11:30 a.m. luncheon March 25 at its Friends Center, 2426 O'ahu Ave.

Founded in 1937, Honolulu Friends Meeting began meeting in homes, at the Richards Street YWCA and at the Church of the Crossroads until acquiring the home in 1957. It also houses the office of the Hawai'i Area Program of the American Friends Service Committee.
