Aquaculture class in late July

Advertiser Staff

Waimanalo's Oceanic Institute next month will host a class on establishing recirculating aquaculture systems.

The course will provide an overview of the design, operation and management of water-reuse systems for fin fish and indoor shrimp production.

Taught by staff members of the institute and visiting experts from the Cornell University Aquaculture Program, it includes a number of lectures and hands-on learning experiences.

Topics covered include water-quality monitoring, economic risks and maintaining fish help.

It runs July 23 to 27. The fee is $750.
