MAKAHA
Lane closings on highway

Advertiser Staff

The state Department of Transportation will begin making pedestrian safety improvements today on Farrington Highway along the Wai'anae Coast.

Crews will restripe crosswalks, paint pavement marking messages and move intersection stop lines at certain crosswalks.

Lane closures are scheduled along the highway from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. The work will start in the Makaha area, and continue toward Nanakuli.

Motorists are urged to use caution when driving through the work area.

The safety work should last about six weeks and cost approximately $75,000, the DOT said.
