ALL IN THE 'OHANA: Nataysha Echevarria, who was Belle when Saint Louis School staged "Beauty and the Beast," will move to New York, now that the "Spotlight on the Arts" musical revue mounted by Ronald Bright, in which she was a featured singer, is pau at Windward Community College's Paliku Theatre. Nataysha will join her big sister, Tatiana, attending a performing arts school in The Big Apple, after Tatiana completes a Kamehameha Concert Glee Club tour to Tahiti.

For Echevarria, gravitating to Broadway is somewhat of a family affair. Brother Isaac Calpito has been there for several years, still performing in the "Mamma Mia!" cast. Her mother, Kim Au, and little brother Lee Jr., have found a condo near Isaac. Lee already is in the spotlight, modeling in those Gap Kids ads at the Ala Moana Center store as well as on the Mainland. All of this means that dad Lee Au Sr. will have to commute between Honolulu and New York. ...

Babies ruled at Paliku Theatre, too: Choreographer Jade Stice (who staged and performed the "Cell Block Tango" number from "Chicago") and hubby Dr. Jamie Finley are expecting their first this fall. Anne Yoshida, another cast member, is expecting. Singer Sarah Gamiao Kekuna recently delivered a baby girl. ...

WHEE, THE PEOPLE: Looks like the casting folks of a planned "South Pacific" revival on Broadway are holding an audition here this weekend for the role of Bloody Mary. I itemed earlier that they were eager to see and hear Marlene Sai, who is doing the role with the Hawaii Opera Theatre this summer. Now comes word that Sonya Mendez, who earlier did the part at Paliku Theatre, also will try out. Then she journeys to Japan for official Kapolei Rotary Club business (she is outgoing president) to meet with a sister club in Fukui. She and her significant other, Ken Field, also plan to connect with John Bryan, who is an assistant choreographer at Universal Studios in Osaka. ...

Edwin Ramones, longtime member and leader of The Krush in the group's various incarnations over the years, will receive a master of arts in education and elementary teacher certification from the University of Phoenix on June 25. Congrats! ...

When Compadres owner Rick Enos was in town recently to check on his Mexican eatery at Ward Centre, he did what restaurateurs do — check the dining front. He did his own Waikiki Beach Walk trek, had supper at Ruth's Chris Steak House, checked on the new Roy's where he ran into pals Indru and Gulab Watumull dining with Fred and Myrtle Lee and Fred and Julie Honda, and, of course, visited Nobu at the Waikiki Parc hotel. ...

ITEMIZATIONS: Chef Martin Yan, of "Yan Can Cook" fame, delighted 60 PBS Hawaii members who, along with new president and CEO Leslie Wilcox, got to see him do a cooking demo at the Servco Home and Appliance Showroom in Mapunapuna on Saturday. He deboned a whole chicken in 15 seconds, which he says saves money, which allows him to visit Hawai'i four times a year, donate to PBS and maintain a Waikiki condo. All guests received a Yan cookbook and he personalized messages for many. ...

John Kolivas and his Honolulu Jazz Quartet's "Tenacity" album is receiving neat airplay across the U.S. and on foreign turf such as France and Greece. What next, a jazz tour over yonder? ...

CALENDAR CUES: Comedian Frank DeLima brings his Father's Day brunch show to Dot's in Wahiawa at 12:30 p.m. Sunday. ...

Pianist Wendy Yamashita gives a benefit recital at 4 p.m. July 1 at the Dr. Richard Mamiya Theatre at Saint Louis School.
