KAPOLEI
Board gets new chairman

Advertiser Staff

Shad Kane, a former Honolulu police lieutenant, was voted chairman of the Makakilo/Kapolei/Honokai Hale Neighborhood Board at the board's regular meeting last week.

Kane replaces longtime chairwoman Maeda Timson, who won re-election to the board but failed to muster the support to continue leading.

Kane, uncle of Hawaiian Homes Commission Chairman Micah Kane, has been on the Kapolei board since 2001.

Kioni Dudley was voted vice chairman, Evelyn Souza secretary and George Yamamoto treasurer. Dudley and Brian Kanno also received support for the chairman's post.
