WAILUKU
Department restructured

Advertiser Staff

With the start of the new fiscal year, Maui County's Department of Public Works and Environmental Management has been restructured into two departments: the Department of Public Works and the Department of Environmental Management.

Voters approved the change in the 2006 election.

The public works agency, which remains at 200 S. High St., includes the engineering and highways divisions; environmental management, at One Main Plaza, oversees solid waste and wastewater reclamation functions.

For now, both departments can be reached by calling (808) 270-7845.
