Ready for something really cinematically different?

"Tears of the Black Tiger," part of Thailand's new wave of films, is a colorful and campy action/tearjerker parody. It's the tale of a city girl, a country boy, a dying father, bandits and gangs. Woohoo! It's subtitled.

Screening at 1 and 7:30 p.m. today; 1, 4 and 7:30 p.m. tomorrow; 7:30 p.m. Monday; and 1 and 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the Doris Duke Theatre, Honolulu Academy of Arts. Tickets are $7 general, $6 seniors, students and military, $5 for museum members.
