GOING VEGAS
Nugget now newer and splashier

By Anthony Curtis

The Golden Nugget is unveiling its completed $100 million renovation, including a refurbished casino. The centerpiece of the four-diamond resort's makeover is a new pool area called the Tank, with waterfalls and a two-story water slide that runs through a huge aquarium of sharks and exotic fish. The pool is heated and will open on Super Bowl weekend.

'SPAMALOT': The Monty Python stage extravaganza "Spamalot" opens March 31 at the Wynn's new Grail Theatre. Tickets are $49, $69, $89 and $99. Preview shows (March 8-30) will be discounted 25 percent.

YEAR OF THE PIG: Bellagio's botanical garden has installed a Chinese New Year exhibit. The display includes an animated 7-foot-tall swine that snorts and wiggles its nose and ears, along with an 18-foot-tall Chinese god of fortune, koi ponds, and formal rock gardens. The exhibit will run through March 3.

Q. Where can I play in the Ultimate Blackjack Tour tournaments that run on TV?

A. The shows are the finals from open UBT tournaments held worldwide. Tournaments will be held at the Palms and the Venetian in Las Vegas this summer. The Palms also has mini-tournaments every Thursday at noon ($120 entry fee), where you can win a seat at one of the TV tournaments.
