Party going strong at mill in Waimea, Kaua'i

The town of Waimea, Kaua'i, is in its second day of party mode — from 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. today at the Waimea Sugar Mill — with entertainment, food, crafts, games, a beer garden, silent auction and sporting events.

Among the activities:

  • The hat-lei contest display continues from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the West Kaua'i Visitor Center.

  • Waimea Round-up Rodeo, at noon at the old Waimea Dairy. Admission is $3 general, free for kids under 12.

  • Kilohana Canoe Race, at 9 a.m. along the shoreline.

    On the entertainment schedule tonight: Kawao at 6:50, Ho'aikane at 8:20, Natural Vibrations at 10:05.
