The Equus offers kama'aina deals

Advertiser Staff

Aqua Hotels & Resorts' newly renovated boutique hotel, The Equus (formerly the Hawaii Polo Inn), offers a kama'aina rate of $111 a night through June 30. Hawai'i residents who book the "Get Acquainted with Equus" special also get a 50 percent discount on a North Shore horseback ride that starts at Mokule'ia Polo Field, heads through ironwood forests and along the beach before turning back. (The 90-minute trail ride, $95 per person, is available separately by calling 220-5153.)

The Equus joined Aqua hotels in September and completed renovations in December. Upgrades to the 68-room property are designed, the group says, to offer a "Ralph Lauren meets upcountry Hawai'i" ambience. The Equus, at the 'ewa end of Waikiki, is home to the Hawaii Polo Club and visiting international teams during polo season (late April through September). 949-0061 or www.aquaresorts.com.
