Alaska Anchorage hands BYU-Hawaii its first loss

Chris Bryant scored 26 points, and Carl Arts added 22 and grabbed 11 rebounds, as Alaska Anchorage dealt the Brigham Young-Hawai'i men's basketball its first loss of the season, 95-90, in double overtime last night in La'ie in the Hoop N' Surf Tournament.

Lucas Alves led all scorers with 33 points for the Seasiders (4-1).

The Seawolves (5-3) shot 56.9 percent from the field (33 of 58).

CHAMINADE 92, LEE 91

Marko Kolaric scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as Chaminade held off Lee University an exhibition basketball game at McCabe Gym.

The NAIA school from Cleveland, Tenn., missed a desperation 3-pointer at the end of the game.

FLORIDA SOUTHERN 77, HAWAI'I PACIFIC 65

Rion Rayfield scored 22 points and Brandon Jenkins added 17 as the Moccasins (7-3) beat the Sea Warriors (3-3) in the Hoop N' Surf Tournament at McKinley High School.

Jason Curtis led HPU with 17 points and Rod Harmon added 12.

WOMEN'S DIVISION II

OKLAHOMA PANHANDLE 84, BYUH 66

Sarah Polson scored 26 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead the Lady Aggies (5-4) over the Seasiders (0-6) in the Hoop N' Surf Tournament at Kilauea District Park Gym.

Richelle Fenenbock led BYUH with 16 points, Amanda Watts added 15 and Agnes Tuilevuka and Hoku Holdcraft each had 12.

TRUMAN STATE 88, HAWAI'I PACIFIC 55

Georgia Mueller scored 25 points to lead the Lady Bulldogs (7-1) over the Sea Warriors (0-5) in the Hoop N' Surf Tournament at Kilauea District Park Gym.

Ashley Jenkins led HPU with 20 points.

ALASKA ANCHORAGE 105, CHAMINADE 46

Ruby Williams led four Lady Seawolves (10-0) in double figures with 36 points as the Alaska school beat the Silverswords (0-6) for the third time this season.

Marian Murphy led Chaminade with 17 points.

The Seawolves beat Chaminade, 98-31, on Nov. 30 and 92-43 on Dec. 3. Both games were in Alaska.

OZARKS 95, UH-HILO 80

Kayli Combs scored 22 points to lead five Bobcats (11-0) in double-figure scoring in the win over the Vulcans (0-5) at Hilo Civic.

Krystlelyn Omlan, Nesha Kimitete and Sheila Azevedo each scored 14 points for UH-Hilo.
