Terry Adkins, a sculptor, musician and performance artist whose work is in the permanent collections of New York's Museum of Modern Art and Metropolitan Museum of Art, gives a public lecture at 7:30 tonight at the University of Hawai'i-Manoa Art Auditorium.

His art is about humanity. "I try to represent people's contributions to making the world a better place. I try to right historical wrongs," says Adkins, who uses overlooked and discarded materials to create new forms.

His appearance is part of UH's Intersections program. Information: 956-5260, www.hawaii.edu/art/intersections.
