Challenge at Manele

The seaside Challenge at Manele course is set on the dramatic cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean — every hole guarantees an ocean view, where whales and dolphins are often a distraction. This target-style course is built around several hundred acres of natural lava fields and outcroppings.
The Challenge at Manele is a work of art designed by the skilled sculptor, Jack Nicklaus. Mixing the vivid colors of the crimson earth, jade fairways, soft white sand traps and gold ilima blossom, Nicklaus molded a course that is one of the top golf courses in the world.
Par is coveted on the No. 12 "signature hole." The "fairway" is a surging ocean 150 feet below the tee. Bring along an extra ball as it's all carry to reach the green (the tradewinds should help you). You may want to take a little extra club, long is definitely better than short.
