Waikoloa Beach Resort holding tournament to benefit attack victims

Waikoloa Beach Resort will be the site of the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Golf Tournament, Oct. 12, at its Kings Course. The four-person scramble will begin at 12:30 p.m., with all proceeds benefiting American Red Cross.æ
Entry fee is $125 per player or $450 per team (foursome) and includes greens and cart fees, practice balls, instructional clinic led by Waikoloa's golf professionals and an invitation to the awards banquet and silent auction.

PGA seminar: The Aloha Section PGA is offering "How to Get the Most from Your Students" seminars on O'ahu and the Big Island this month. Paul Callaway, creator of the Body Balance for Performance golf health, fitness and performance training program, will direct.
His interactive seminars are specifically designed for PGA/LPGA teaching professionals to learn about the physical characteristics necessary to play safe and consistent golf. The goal is to help golf pros "gain a full understanding of the physical requirements each student must have in order to maximally benefit from their instruction and remain injury free."
The Big Island seminar is Oct. 16, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Hapuna Golf Course. Cost is $10 for PGA members and apprentices, or $20 for non-members. Deadline to register is Oct. 12.
O'ahu's seminar will run six hours (9 a.m.-3 p.m.) on Oct. 22, at Waialae Country Club. Cost is $20 for PGA members and apprentices and $30 for non-members. The deadline is Oct. 17.
Callaway was the PGA Tour's Director of Physical Therapy from 1985-88. He has also worked with Tiger Woods.
